The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency will open its waiting lists for two elderly and disabled properties on a first-come, first-served basis in March 2023. Anyone currently on the waiting lists for Gernert Studio Apartments or Hadley Park Towers will need to reapply.
In order to qualify for an elderly and disabled property, the head of household must be at least 62 years old or have a disability. In most cases, documentation of the disability is required.
Applications will be accepted online only and can be submitted 24 hours a day during the open application period at www.nashville-mdha.org (click on the button that says Apply for Housing). The application is simple and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Applicants will need to register a new username and password for each property and have a valid email address. Once an application is submitted, applicants will receive an email confirming that the application was submitted successfully.
Each property has its own waiting list, so applicants interested in both properties will need to fill out two online applications.
Gernert Studio Apartments is located at 1101 Edgehill Ave. and features studio and one-bedroom apartments.
The waiting list will be open from noon March 22, 2023, until 3 p.m. April 12, 2023.
Applicants interested in Gernert Studio Apartments who are in need of assistance may call the management office at 615-252-3717 (choose option 3 when prompted) between noon and 3 p.m. March 22, 2023.
Hadley Park Towers is located at 2901 John A. Merritt Blvd. and features studio apartments.
The waiting list will be open from noon March 24, 2023, until 3 p.m. April 14, 2023.
Applicants interested in Hadley Park Towers who are in need of assistance may call the management office at 615-252-3724 (choose option 3 when prompted) between noon and 3 p.m. March 24, 2023.
Applicants may also visit public libraries to access a computer. All Nashville Public Library locations have reopened for in-person services. While face coverings are no longer required, they are strongly encouraged for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals while inside Metro buildings, including Nashville Public Library.
