The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is gauging current and future interest in Project-Based Vouchers (PBVs) from our development partners. Note this is not a solicitation for applications, nor is it an application for housing. Developers, landlords and owners are encouraged to respond to a brief survey linked below. Responses will be collected through Oct. 7, 2024.

PBVs are a valuable tool that allows MDHA to partner with private owners and developers to expand the availability of affordable rental housing. Similar to the Tenant-Based Voucher Program, the PBV program provides low-and moderate-income households with monthly rental assistance. However, PBV assistance is tied to particular units rather than to the family. Eligible families only receive assistance while living in the PBV unit. PBVs can be utilized at existing units, units that will be rehabilitated or newly constructed in accordance with applicable requirements. MDHA houses approximately 30,000 Nashvillians, but there is still a demand and need in Nashville – as is the case throughout the country. While there is still much work to do, MDHA hopes to strengthen current partnerships and create new partnerships with developers, landlords and owners like you who share a commitment to affordable housing. Working together is key for Nashville to achieve its affordable housing goals and continue to be a city that serves all Nashvillians.
