MDHA will open its waiting list for one through four bedroom units at its five contemporary public housing properties on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at noon Monday, May 2, 2016. Anyone currently on the contemporary waiting list will need to reapply.
Qualifications to live in contemporary public housing:
- All applicants must be able to get utilities in their own name.
- All applicants must have $10,400 in stable annual income, or be elderly or disabled and receive social security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) applicants must have been participating in a training program of 20 or more hours weekly for the past six months.
Applications for the waiting list will be accepted online only at www.nashville-mdha.org from noon Monday, May 2 until 3 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016. The application is simple and takes less than three minutes to fill out. A valid email address is required, and participants will be notified by email when their application is received.
Applicants will now have the option to choose where they want to live from any of the five contemporary properties below:
J. Henry Hale Apartments, 1433 Jo Johnston Ave.
Levy Place, 303 Foster Street
Parkway Terrace, 196 North Seventh Street
Historic Preston Taylor Apartments, 3900 Clifton Road
Vine Hill Apartments, 601 Benton Ave.
For participants who need assistance with the online application, MDHA staff will be available from noon to 3 p.m. May 2, 8 a.m. to noon May 3 and May 9 at the Randee Rogers Training Center, located at 1419 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard
