Frank Stevenson

Frank D. Stevenson is a visionary leader, dynamic speaker and compassionate servant whose impact spans Middle Tennessee and beyond. With more than 20 years in ministry, he serves as the Senior Pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, where he delivers inspiring sermons and uplifts the community through service and advocacy. In addition to his pastoral role, Stevenson has served more than a decade as Vice President and Dean of Students at Tennessee State University, shaping the lives of countless students. His leadership journey also includes roles as executive director of a local charter school and Executive Deputy Director of the Tennessee Office of Minority Health, where he championed equity and access to health resources. Currently, Stevenson contracts with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, where he helps coordinate special projects, including initiatives related to the National Civil Rights Trail.

A proud Music City native, Stevenson has been appointed to several influential boards. He formerly chaired the Metro Hospital Authority Board, playing a key role in supporting Nashville General Hospital’s mission to better serve the community. He currently serves on the Nashville Predators Foundation Board and was appointed by the mayor to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) board.

His academic journey includes a B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Master of Public Administration from Murray State University and ongoing doctoral studies at Trevecca Nazarene University. Frank D. Stevenson’s life reflects an enduring commitment to faith, education, health equity and social progress—living proof that one life, rooted in purpose, can inspire many.
