Jamie Berry is the chief of staff at the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA). In this role, she serves as MDHA’s intergovernmental affairs liaison, oversees communication and fundraising efforts and ensures the goals established in MDHA’s Strategic Plan are met to best serve residents and program participants. Previously, Berry served as MDHA’s director of communications for eight years, overseeing all marketing, branding and communications. She was also the primary external contact, media spokesperson and event coordinator.
Before devoting her work full-time to MDHA, she served as the PR & Communications Manager at Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. Berry’s professional career also includes 14 years as a television news producer. During her more than 10 years at the CBS affiliate in Nashville, she produced several 30-minute specials including one on the 2010 flood, which earned Berry her second regional Emmy Award.
Berry earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Middle Tennessee State University and a Certificate in Business Excellence from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University.
Berry is actively involved in her community as a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee, a member of Cable, and the president of her homeowners association. She also serves as one of the directors of a camp she has attended since the age of four.
