Family Self-Sufficiency Program

Helping residents meet their goals!

The MDHA Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is a voluntary program established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to promote employment and economic growth. MDHA residents can participate in the FSS program to receive the services and resources needed to obtain a higher-paying job that will enable them to become self-sufficient and independent of government assistance.

To help FSS participants reach their goals, MDHA staff help connect them with services like homeownership counselling, education, job training, financial literacy courses and more. Participants also establish an escrow savings account that increases as a their salary increases.
